Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

We are excited to announce that Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) will be offered every Wednesday morning beginning November 8, 2023. These sessions will run from 9:30am-11:00am.

What is CGS?

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is an approach to religious education based on the methods of Maria Montessori. Central to the Catechesis is the Atrium, a room containing beautiful materials that focus the child's attention on key Scripture passages or liturgical moments. You can learn more about CGS by visiting the the CGS USA website and by viewing the video below.

Cost and Registration

The cost to participate is $100 per family. Financial aid is available upon request in the registration form. Registration deadline is Monday, November 6, 2023.

After you register, you will receive an email giving you instructions on how to make pay. Payments can be made by check at the church office, or through the church's giving portal. Click the button for "Registration Fees."

Aides

We are in need of aides to assist in the atrium (the room where CGS occurs). Aides receive a significant discount on their registration fee. You can indicate your willignness to serve as an aide in the registration form.

Nursery

A nursery room is adjacent to the atrium and available to moms who have children not yet ready to participate in CGS. Some moms work cooperatively to care for each other's children to allow visits to the adoration chapel, which is open during CGS.

Donations

Our atrium is still a work in progress. If you are interested in helping to make or donate the various hand-made objects that the children use in the atrium, please contact Gordon Kangas, Director of Youth Discipleship. You can also make a financial donation through the church's giving portal, and selecting "Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Donations."
